Winter

So for my first story to publish here I chose a very short one called Winter. Yes, yes it's summertime so this probably seems kinda off, right? Well in this hot weather why not read something that could cool us down?

Once again he was walking through the darkened streets of his hometown and watched as his breath turned into clouds of steam in the cold air. Another day at work ended and he was on his way back home. On the longest, the lenghtiest possible path he could choose.

The chill was pinching his face and slowly started getting under his clothes too, but despite that he had no intention of picking up his pace. He didn't want to go back to that place, only he didn't have any other to turn to. He stopped as he sighed and looked up to the quickly darkening sky and his eyes slowly started to distinguish a few individual sparkly dots, which he always loved so dearly. He deeply breathed in and out, on his face appeared a tiny smile. I guess that the stars warmed him up from inside along the memories they brought with them. Memories about the times when even the grimmest winters were warm.

Her smile shined between the falling snowflakes and her eyes were mirroring a child's joy. "Snowing! It really is snowing!" rang her voice through the air. He smiled as he watched her like that. She turned to him with that breathtaking smile and he had to thank the cool air for the redness of his cheeks because they just started burning with blood rushing in. He took her hand and lead her towards a little chapel while they talked about their common love of the winter season. The night started slowly falling upon the park and those little lights started showing up on the sky, merging with the snowflakes that danced with the wind. Both their sights turned to the skies as they smiled. What a shame that would be the last time they could watch it like this together.

He felt as the hot tears started rolling down his cheeks and quickly wiped them away, to prevent them from freezing on his face. Anew with a heavy step he made his way home which was empty for so many years already. Little by little he was getting closer, when that white dust began falling down. It was the first time since that incident that snow showed up in this town. Trying to stop the flow of the tears he almost reached his destination when suddenly he heard a ringing voice:

"Snowing! It really is snowing!"

So there you go guys. I have been told I should make a second part and I actually started writing it but sadly I lost all my documents a few months ago and I couldn't recover all of it. I could start again or maybe try again to find it, if you guys would be interested so let me know.
